Patten Street Duo
Playing soulful and sincere renditions of classic jazz with a hint of blues, Patten Street Duo—Singer Teresa Foracchi and guitarist Guilherme Foracchi—delivers a diverse repertoire of standards immortalized by Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Julie London, Sarah Vaughan, and Chet Baker. Guilherme, originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, brings a flavor of samba, as well as influences from his training in jazz at Berklee College of Music, while Teresa infuses the music with her background in folk and blues. Straight from the heart, Patten Street Duo creates an evocative sound with its elegant guitar and sultry vocals.
Urubatan means "the powerful one" in the old Tupi language, and that is exactly what music is to Guilherme, Juan and Julio. Their repertoire is based on Brazilian rhythms such as Samba and Choro, honoring the greats such as Pixinguinha and Jacob do Bandolim along with their own compositions. The result is an uplifting, fresh music with over a hundred years of tradition yet with a youthful energy.
